• Forgetting that 0 can hold a place and change meaning
• Comparing numbers by the last digit instead of the hundreds/tens
• Misreading expanded form or writing it inconsistently
• Skipping regrouping logic when trading 10 tens for 1 hundred

Tips to score higher

Say the number in words, then point to the hundreds digit and tens digit to confirm their values. When comparing two numbers, check hundreds first, then tens, then ones to stay consistent.
